Under the file of trees on the other band of the river
Clothed figures moves with their own pace
Like corporeal ghosts float toward tangible past

河对岸的一列树下
一套套衣裳缓急自适
有形的灵魂漂向可辨的古代

That oracle comes from memory,
Ariadne’s cave half-open
The time of this life scrapes our skin like cold wind

那是谶语,来自记忆
阿里阿德涅的洞穴门扉半启
此世的时间寒风般擦刮我们的皮

Tahiti women offer their fruits with piety
For the fruits have their right time of ripening
Gauguin is ashamed for his impatience to pick

大溪地的女人捧出果子
以及对瓜熟蒂落的感恩
高更为曾经急于采摘而羞愧
