Wild Grasses
With fresh supplies of rain and fertilizer,
Wild grasses are now ashamed of their accumulated anger
Over the sudden heaviness of crumbled dikes.
Their will to survive is never
For the greening of the earth,
But for keeping themselves alive to taste air and sunshine.
Only those who bore out of the soil can be entitled
As “lives,” and the lives of theirs
Will be forgotten after a mere glimpse.
The humans know they are but wild grasses,
And if they eulogize, they are merely cheating both the grasses and themselves,
And they do so out of morality.
